The Leadon

Purple Gingham
$89

Tall men deserve a stylish gingham check, too. This sharp shirt is perfect on its own or for stylish layering this fall under blazers and sweaters. Constructed by hand in the USA with fine Italian-made fabric from Albini.

The soft comfort of fine gingham check is a rite of passage for the well-dressed man. Now tall men can see what all the fuss is about. The Leadon Shirt combines a soft lightweight Italian fabric with a splash of color to create a sharp shirt perfect for on it’s own or layered under sweaters for fall. Constructed by hand with care in the USA the Leadon Shirt is made the same way shirts have been made for generations. Longshot’s Tailored Taller fit is designed for guys who are tall and fit.

  • Tailored taller fit with no hidden princess pleats
  • Pure Egyptian 70s single-ply cotton
  • Hidden button collar
  • Front pocket
  • Fused collar and cuffs, reinforced placket

Slightly fitted for a tailored look, with room for comfort; not baggy, not tight. Narrower cut and available in two sleeve lengths to make sure those wrists are always covered. Long enough to tuck your shirt in and short enough to look good un-tucked. Collar width is generous to allow the collar to lie around the neck without pulling. Hidden button collar helps it to stand up proudly.

We recommend that you machine wash your Longshot shirt in warm water and hang to dry. Press with a warm iron while slightly damp for best results. Some irons have a steam setting which is a nice feature to use on cotton shirts like ours. If you choose to launder professionally we recommend light starch. Dry cleaning is not recommended.

Shrinkage is minimal on woven shirts. Length has been added to the design to compensate for any shrinkage. Neck width, arm length and overall length will see nominal shrinkage.

Welcome alternative to the big-and-tall giants

I'm pretty tired of Cutter & Buck. And I've never been a Polo pony guy. And that's 50 percent of B&T catalogs these days. Longshot shirts, while pricey, are the best specialty brand I've found. (Cooper Jones is my favorite mass brand, but B&T mix is limited, and sizing is not always consistent.) I'm 6 foot 10, 260 pounds, with a 17-1/2 (to 18) neck, and 38-inch sleeves. The 4L fit, albeit very trim fitting, which it is meant to be. Thankfully, the tail is longer than on a Faconnable, a high-end and expensive brand that these shirts rival in style/quality. I sense that I'll need to be careful washing the shirt, so it doesn't shrink up on me. Great to have a fashionable shirt with a contemporary fit, and that I can wear in and out of my trousers. Sure beats wearing those boat sails that other B&T brands sell to tall guys.
This is a badass shirt

These shirts are so high quality, you can feel it the minute you put it on. They're going to last. They have cool touches like hidden collar buttons. The fit is great - I'm 6'5 195 and wear a 2. I love these shirts!

I am a slim guy and struggle with sleeve length and hate baggy shirts. The sizing tool works really well and I got the perfect fit first time.

The quality of the shirt is excellent.

Highly recommended.

I was very pleased not only with the quality of this shirt but the look. For years I have been looking for a purple patterned shirt to wear with a gray suit and I have never found even at custom prices anything remotely close to anything this nice.. After finally getting the sizing right on a previous order I rate this whole experience 5 stars! My advice to anyone that is used to purchasing XLT's from Cutter and Buck, or Polo to really be advised that these have a very nice taper in the body and even though my neck size is in the 17-171/2 inch range indicating a 3 size the 4 was much more comfortable when wearing an undershirt underneath. I am 6'6" and weigh about 235 with 37" sleeves and believe the size 4 is the correct size for me rather than the suggested 3.
Longshot shirts are like potato chips -- try one and you will certainly want to get more

I wore this shirt while guest-hosting my first solo radio show in LA a few days ago because it embodies what I wanted the show to sound like -- a combination of casual and classy, comfortable but on point. I love the hidden buttons that keep the collar from flattening out or going all Soupy Sales on you. The weight is perfect for summer and for tall guys, you get an appropriate sleeve length and still can wear it tucked in without looking like a puffy-waistline nerd or hanging out without threat of it billowing like a mast. I've also had some top-label shirts that began to show wear after only a few launderings, and I'm happy to report my Leadon looks as crisp as the day it came out of the packaging. My only warning: Longshot shirts are like potato chips -- try one and you will certainly want to get more.

I am 6'6 and the fit of this shirt is great, the sleeves 3L were a tiny bit shorter then i would like (my sleeve is 28-39). Otherwise this is a perfect product.
Great fit out of the box

I am 6' 2 1/2" so not that tall but I have been buying made-to-order shirts or rolling up my too-short sleeves for a while. I bought a white Lawson and the purple gingham Leadon shirts in 3. They fit great out of the box and the thing I like best is they easily transition between work and play. Yesterday I threw a blazer over the purple Gingham for a morning customer meeting, was in the office with the sleeves rolled up and casual the rest of the day and to top it off put a sweater on and slept overnight on a red-eye back home. The cotton is super comfortable, the fit and finish great and it never comes un-tucked (you tall guys know what I mean). The only two things I am looking for are more color and pattern choices.

This is a beautiful shirt. So well-made and I love that it's made in the USA! But more than that, I have to say that I'm shocked. I had no idea that a dress shirt could look this good on me. I thought I just didn't like to wear dress shirts. Now I know that I didn't like them because they looked so bad on me. They are always so baggy on the sides and I have to do Japanese origami tricks on the side to tuck them in. Now I know what a shirt is supposed to look like on me. It really fits me like someone tailored it for me. I'm online buying another shirt of a different style because I'm so amazed at how well this shirt fits. It never occurred to me that shirts were made as if tall men were also "big"! Thank you for opening my eyes to how nice I can look now.
