Bobby Fisher Against the World from HBO

It’s been close to forty years since chess wizard Bobby Fischer became World Champion, defeating Russia’s Boris Spasky. Now there’s a new HBO documentary that looks at his life called “Bobby Fischer Against The World.”

Last night I saw the new HBO documentary called Bobby Fisher Against the World directed by award winning film maker Liz Garbus. All I have to say is:  It’s not TV, its HBO.  Those guys really know how to create good content!  I have always been fascinated by the Bobby Fisher story (he is the reining world champion of Chess and won the historic match against the Soviets during the cold war) but I didn’t really know the whole story. Besides being a tall, lean and fit man (he was 6’2” tall), Bobby Fisher was a complicated, misunderstood genius.  I can’t recommend this documentary enough. You’ll be glad you saw it. Thanks HBO.
